Bulgarian Sports Development Association (BSDA) and Karasu Gençlik, Sanat ve Spor Kulübu Derneği have launched local training cycles in Bulgaria and Turkey to prepare participants for the first international #BeInclusive SPORT Camp in Sakarya, scheduled for 25–28 August 2025.
The trainings – run in Kurdjali and Karasu – span a minimum of 10 days and focus on community sports initiatives that promote active engagement, inclusion and social interaction. Across both countries, they will engage at least 150 individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID) during the project lifetime who will form national teams for the international event.
The Sakarya camp will bring together participants and sport experts for four days of structured activities (including travel days): introductory sessions, inclusive sport engagements, certification and evaluation. These activities are part of SPORT – Strengthening Potentials through Opportunities, Respect and Team-spirit, a ErasmusPlus supported collaboration between BSDA and Kargenc Club that combines local actions with international mobility and the creation of practical educational resources to support inclusion through sport.
What’s next?
- Ongoing local trainings in Sofia and Karasu (January – August) to finalize team preparation.
- International #BeInclusive SPORT Camp in Sakarya, 25–28 August 2025.
- Post-event documentation contributing to a practical #SPORT Edition toolkit for inclusive sports engagement.
One more #SPORT camp is planned to be held in Bulgaria in 2026, which will gather again 30 participants with intellectual disabilities (15 per country) into a multisport camp, ensuring physical activity, friendships and personal growth.
